It is no secret that in today’s highly selective college admission climate good grades and SAT scores are simply not enough to gain admission into the college of your dreams. Whether a student seeks to attend an Ivy League, a UC school or their first choice school, a strong education combined with experienced guidance is the key to optimizing college options.
MYNT works to minimize the anxiety and stress often associated with the college admission process by offering a comprehensive College Admission Counseling program. In the program, students learn how to identify their goals and interests, manage a complex and stressful application process, and make healthy and confident decisions about higher education.
Research and Applications
In the Senior year, MYNT helps students consider college majors and career goals more seriously. MYNT teaches students how to effectively research colleges and develop a focused list of colleges that are a good academic and social fit. MYNT also guides students in determining which teachers are best to write recommendations, preparing for interviews, and developing an academic resume.
For most students, the college essay is the most daunting portion of the college application. MYNT counselors help students write well-written and unique essays that will be memorable to admission officers. In addition, our expert editing team ensures that all essays are well-polished and grammatically correct.
The Role of the Parent
Parents are an integral part of the college search and application process. While MYNT guides students through this process, parents are regularly informed of their child’s progress and assignments. They will learn how to manage expectations, support their child, and navigate the fundamentals of the financial aid process. As a result, parents become a source of student motivation and success.
At MYNT Education, we understand that students have different learning styles and work habits. For this reason, we customize each student's program to meet their specific needs as they work through the college search and application process. While students have a head counselor, MYNT also assigns many students to an assistant counselor who meets with students to more closely monitor application progress.
Further, our Writing Labs give students access to our counselors to ask questions in a small group environment, obtain additional guidance or simply complete work in a quiet space. Finally, each student is assigned an editor who ensures that students’ essays are well-written and convey a clear message.
